It was only $6 but this donation for the 2013 Relay For Life has touched the hearts of a trio of very tired walkers.<\/p>\n

The team mates, from the South Burnett Regional Council, went to McDonald’s in Kingaroy on Sunday morning after the all-night walk for a much-needed coffee.<\/p>\n

As they sat outside, a little girl came out through the glass doors and asked them why they all had the same colour shirts on.<\/p>\n

“We replied that we were raising money for people who were sick, that our team was part of an all-night walking group and that over the weekend people like us had raised over $100,000,” Sheena Uebergang said.<\/p>\n

“The little girl was quite impressed by this because her mouth was open wide with “wow” for that much money.<\/p>\n

“I said that we were part of the Relay For Life walk and that she would be most welcome to join next year because everyone can get involved.<\/p>\n

“She repeated the words ‘Relay for Life’ under her breath and rushed off in a hurry inside to tell her mum (who was standing in line).<\/p>\n

“A couple of minutes later, two girls came racing out with $3.00 each\u00a0in their hands.<\/p>\n

“They said that it was their weekly pocket money and that\u00a0they wanted to give it to our fundraising. They then went onto say that\u00a0they’d definitely be joining a team next year for their purple shirts!<\/p>\n

“A bit speechless, the girl’s mum, Kelly Arnold, walked outside to say that they wanted to\u00a0give the money to the cause. So we humbly and gratefully thanked them for\u00a0their donation.”<\/p>\n

Kelly said her sister had died last year\u00a0so the girls knew how important it was to raise money for these causes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
