A highlight of the South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show weekend was the massive King Of The Park<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0weekend at Manar Park.<\/p>\n

By 6:00pm on Saturday, Manar Park co-owner Robyn Ellis said 947 people had passed through the gates … with more still coming.<\/p>\n

As well as having the opportunity of putting their own motorbikes and quad bikes through their paces, the big attraction for visitors was the King Of The Park challenge.<\/p>\n

Based on the Californian “King Of The Hammers”, the challenge was \u00a0a mixture of desert-style racing and rock-crawling over a marked out course.<\/p>\n

This is the second year that it has been run at Manar Park.<\/p>\n

The Ultra 4 vehicles used in America have been adapted for Australian conditions and are known as “Aust 4s”.<\/p>\n

Technically, they can reach speeds of up to 200km\/h but can’t achieve that on Manar Park’s challenging course.<\/p>\n

The King Of The Park had two categories racing: \u00a0Winch \/ Tuff Trucks \u00a0and Aust 4 \/ Rock Crawlers.<\/p>\n

The winners were the teams that completed the most laps … not as easy as it sounds with the course testing equipment to the limit.<\/p>\n

Competition winners were: \u00a0Winch \/ Tuff Trucks – Matt Hills; and Aust 4 \/ Rock Crawlers – Remy Lowson
