Dimities Cottage is located straight across the road from the Wondai Regional Art Gallery and is surrounded by lush gardens<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dimities Cottage at Wondai is famous all over the South Burnett – and many other parts of south-east Queensland – for its smorgasbords.<\/p>\n

Bus tours regularly pull into Wondai to inspect this large, quirky Queenslander and fill hungry tummies at the same time.<\/p>\n

And locals are regular visitors, too.<\/p>\n

Why? Because there’s heaps of food, all cooked the old-style country way, and it’s fresh, hearty, healthy and ridiculously inexpensive.<\/p>\n

In fact, a meal out at Dimities is often cheaper than cooking at home. And there’s no washing up afterwards!<\/p>\n

During the South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show<\/strong><\/a> long weekend, Dimities Cottage will be running two great tummy-fillers for guests: a Spring Garden Party from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday afternoon, October 5; and a Lunch In The Country Smorgasbord from noon to 2:00pm on Sunday, October 6.<\/p>\n

The Spring Garden Party is an a-la-carte affair where guests can order while they enjoy Dimities’ great gardens, which are coming back to vibrant life after the long, often sub-zero nights of winter.<\/p>\n

You can enjoy anything from a Devonshire Tea to something more substantial, relax on the cottage’s verandahs and take in the air.<\/p>\n

And on Sunday, the $15 per head BYO smorgasbord will allow you to eat what you like – and as much as you like – from Dimities’ wide range of delicious starters, mains and desserts.<\/p>\n

Visitors can also have a lot of fun on either day browsing through the cottage, which contains beautifully restored period furniture, original artworks and lots of unusual decorations, plus a great range of crafts and giftware and locally produced fresh honey, jams and condiments.<\/p>\n

Dimities is also located right across the street from the Wondai Regional Art Gallery<\/strong><\/a> and right next to the newly restored 110-year-old Wondai Hotel.<\/p>\n

This makes it a perfect place to rest and recuperate if you go to inspect either (or both) of these wonderful places.<\/p>\n
