Legendary South Burnett saxophonist Tom McKenzie will be laying down smooth jazz grooves at Moffatdale Ridge on Saturday, October 5<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jazz fans who want to kick back and relax over the South Burnett & Cherbourg On Show<\/strong><\/a> long weekend should make a bee-line for Moffatdale Ridge, located 10km from Murgon on the Barambah Road, not far from Bjelke-Petersen Dam.<\/p>\n

The Ridge will be holding two big jazz afternoons on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday October 6.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, legendary South Burnett saxophonist Tom McKenzie will be performing from 11:00am to 3:00pm; and on Sunday, nationally renowned jazz performers Brian and Judy Whenem will be taking centre stage (again, from 11:00am to 3:00pm).<\/p>\n

Moffatdale Ridge’s cellar door will be open between 10:00am and 4:00pm both days, and guests are welcome to sample the full range of wines and liqueurs on offer.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the adjoining restaurant will be open the same hours and debuting its new Spring menu, and guests are welcome to or order finger foods and\/or lunch as they enjoy the music, or just grab a table and relax.<\/p>\n

Moffatdale Ridge is a 260-acre property is owned by Jason and Sue Kinsella and was originally selected by Sue’s grandfather in 1909. Its vineyards were established in 1996.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ridge grow verdelho, semillion, cabernet, shiraz and merlot grapes in their 12 acre vineyards, along with experimental plantings of albarino and sangiovese.<\/p>\n

They also produce shiraz, cabernet-sauvignon and a semillion chardonnay from their grapes along with a botrytis semillon; a rose; a wide range of liqueurs; and white and dark ports.<\/p>\n

The Ridge prides itself on being known as “Queensland’s friendliest winery” and its cellar door and restaurant are located inside a striking, Tuscan-inspired building which has become famous for its popular monthly Tuscan Feasts.<\/p>\n

The Ridge is also home to the annual autumn Opera On The Lawn concert, which features some of south-east Queensland’s most talented opera singers.<\/p>\n
