Animals at the Kingaroy RSPCA are barking, meowing and squawking with relief now that their improved shelter\u00a0facilities have been completed, thanks to funding from the South Burnett Regional Council, the RSPCA and\u00a0the Tarong Community Partnership Fund.<\/p>\n

The RSPCA was awarded $20,000 in funding in 2010 to make much-needed expansions and improvements to\u00a0its shelter and they are now finished.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe RSPCA now will be able to provide bigger and better welfare services for the South Burnett\u2019s abandoned\u00a0animals,\u201d \u00a0Tarong Community Partnership Fund Chair Jenny Gregg\u00a0said.<\/p>\n

The Tarong Community Partnership Fund joined with the South Burnett Regional Council and the RSPCA to\u00a0get the job done.<\/p>\n

The RSPCA Kingaroy Animal Care Centre finds homes for more than 350 animals a year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expansions to the shelter have enabled the RSPCA to house more\u00a0animals and, in turn, rehome more than 95 per cent more animals in the past financial year,” Shelter Manager Sally Charles said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe improvements include new multi-house cat-adoption pens, refurbished dog adoption kennels, a feed\u00a0room, a laundry facility, a vet treatment room, three new yards for the animals to get daily exercise as well as\u00a0the commencement of our future dog adoption pens, which will have approximately 20 kennels.\u201d<\/p>\n

All creatures great and small come to the centre in need – whether as strays, unwanted, injured, abandoned,\u00a0neglected, or abused \u2013 and the RSPCA provides a second chance to as many animals as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe RSPCA does a wonderful job in the South Burnett and it is justifiably loved by the community,\u201d Ms Gregg\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
