Kingaroy artist Celia O’Connor<\/strong> had an enthusiastic roll-up to the official opening of her solo exhibition “Snippets” at Kingaroy Art Gallery this evening.<\/p>\n

Most of this could be put down to the quality of her paintings – many gained “red dots” to signify a sale as the evening progressed – but it’s also an indicator of her popularity as a teacher at St Mary’s Catholic College.<\/p>\n

Celia, who studied visual art at university, teaches Year 2 and many of her colleagues came along to support her at the opening.<\/p>\n

Fellow teacher Bronwyn Martoo<\/strong>, who officially opened the exhibition, said her friend was an exceptional artist and an exceptional teacher.<\/p>\n

“Snippets” is a journey of Celia’s life.<\/p>\n

“There’s a sort of love that emanates from the pieces,” Bronwyn said.<\/p>\n

This is Celia’s fifth solo exhibition and only the second time her artwork has been shown in Kingaroy. It’s been three years since her last exhibition.<\/p>\n

The pieces will remain on display at the Kingaroy Art Gallery between 10:00am and 4:00pm daily until July 6.<\/p>\n
