State Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington<\/strong> has welcomed more than $1.584 million in funding announced by the State Government today for vital accommodation and support services in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

South Burnett CTC and Uniting Care Communities Kywong Women’s Refuge will share the funding:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • South Burnett CTC<\/strong> \u2013 $216,172 per annum for three years<\/li>\n
  • Uniting Care Community<\/strong> – $312,050 per annum for three years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    “Homelessness is a complex issue and there are many factors that can lead to homelessness,” Communities Minister Tracy Davis<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

    “The Newman Government is funding organisations across Queensland to help provide temporary accommodation for people who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless.<\/p>\n

    “South Burnett CTC and the Kywong Women’s Refuge run temporary supported accommodation initiatives that help people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.<\/p>\n

    “They are two of the 39 organisations from Coolangatta to Cairns and west to Mount Isa which will share in the total funding of more than $70 million over three years.<\/p>\n

    “This funding will help these organisations continue to provide specialist homelessness services to people in crisis and support those most in need.<\/p>\n

    “The Newman Government greatly values the support of the non-government sector to deliver these vital services and we will continue to work with them to maximise service delivery.”<\/p>\n

    Ms Frecklington said the funding was part of the State Government’s commitment to provide a range of support services for vulnerable people across the State.<\/p>\n

    “Local, community-based services give people hope and the chance to get their lives back on track,” she said.<\/p>\n

    “It’s good to see this local service supported, to provide help for people in our community when it is needed most.”<\/p>\n
