If you’re at a loss how to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, how about getting down to Kingaroy’s Memorial Park to enjoy a fun day for fathers?<\/p>\n

The Fathers\u2019 Day Picnic in the Park will be held on Sunday, September 1, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

The free entertainment will get underway at 10:00am with a performance by local duo Grant Jeppeson and Vashti Bruyn.<\/p>\n

This will be followed at 11:00am with a performance by the South Burnett Caledonian Pipes and Drums and from noon, Blackbutt singer Amanda Sempf<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At 12:30pm, there’ll \u00a0be the drawing of random prizes. Tickets will be distributed to fathers present during the morning.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a prize for the oldest father present.<\/p>\n

From 1:00pm to 2:00pm, the South Burnett Community Orchestra String Ensemble will be playing in the rotunda.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the organisers, Barry Krosch, said the idea was to encourage families to bring their fathers to the park for a relaxing picnic, while listening to some music.<\/p>\n

He said people should consider bringing along some folding chairs.<\/p>\n

The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in this park so the event is “alcohol-free”.<\/p>\n
