About 80 women – and a couple of men – gathered at Wooroolin on Wednesday for a special joint forum hosted by the Barambah branch of the\u00a0Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women\u2019s Network (QRRRWN).<\/p>\n

Attendees had the opportunity to listening to guest speakers – QRRRWN president Georgie Somerset and Ironpot author Alice Greenup – as well as re-living the 2011\/13 floods and recovery via a slide presentation by Nanango author Liz Caffery.<\/p>\n

There were also lots of opportunities for networking.<\/p>\n

Also taking part in the day was a busload of members of the National Council of Women of Queensland (NCWQ) from Brisbane as well as Year 10 students from Murgon State High School.<\/p>\n

Wooroolin Hall was also the “place to be” for several candidates contesting the upcoming South Burnett Regional Council by-election for Division 6.<\/p>\n

The biennial joint forum of the\u00a0QRRRWN and NCWQ is usually held in Gympie; this is the first time that it has been hosted in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Attendees also enjoyed morning tea and lunch and had the opportunity to browse stalls featuring local produce.<\/p>\n
