Residents in the Wondai, Tingoora and Cherbourg areas will be seeing more smoke around over the next few days, but there’s no need to panic.<\/p>\n

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting planned burns within the McEuen and Wondai State Forests as part of the annual hazard reduction\/conservation management program for parks and forests.<\/p>\n

The aim of the burns is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas within the forest. This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
