The busy round of QCWA branch annual meetings has now ended with thanks given to those who have completed terms of office and a warm welcome to the members now taking up positions.<\/p>\n

Representatives of most branches of the Division met at Murgon on Thursday, August 8, to exchange branch news and plan Division activities for the rest of this year.<\/p>\n

The Division Annual Meeting, finals of cookery, floral art and knitting and crochet plus International morning will be held in the Proston Community Hall on August 29.<\/p>\n

Any members of the public are most welcome to come to see the work on display and hear the guest speaker tell us about Turkey, the current country of study.<\/p>\n

Lunch will be of Vietnamese cuisine to introduce the country to be studied next year.<\/p>\n

Many Branch birthdays and international functions are to be celebrated during September.<\/p>\n

Elgin Vale members made an early start with their 50th birthday party held on July 6 and Hivesville Branch held its international event on July 15.<\/p>\n

Maidenwell Branch will celebrate 85 years of service to the community on the afternoon of August 31 and will hold an international afternoon on September 13.<\/p>\n

We look forward to what Turkish things the Tanduringie school children will come up with this year.<\/p>\n

Hivesville Branch has planned an afternoon tea to mark its 90th birthday on September 27. On September 23, the Division will hold a training day for presidents, vice-presidents and secretaries and we emphasise this is open to all QCWA members, whether holding office or not.<\/p>\n

This will be held in the Murgon QCWA Rooms at 9:00am.<\/p>\n

A reminder that the handcraft ladies will be displaying their lovely work in the Murgon QCWA Rooms on September 13.<\/p>\n

All QCWA social events are open to the general public and you are most welcome to contact a branch or member near to you and find out when their next event is on so you can join in the friendship members share.<\/p>\n
