The Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival<\/strong> is searching the South Burnett for creative people to showcase their works at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall on Sunday, September 9.<\/p>\n

The hall – which will be dubbed “The Artisans Hall” for the day – will become a focalpoint of local creativity, bringing together artists, photographers, craftspeople, musicians and authors from Blackbutt and beyond.<\/p>\n

One of them will be Benarkin writer Sharon Gartner<\/strong>, author of “This Charming Shack”, which is described as “a hilarious tale for a single urbanite with a love hate relationship with all things rural”.<\/p>\n

“There are many talented and creative people in and around Blackbutt and I hope the festival inspires more to put pen to paper, brush to canvas or get the dust off the guitar sitting in corner of the spare room,” Sharon said.<\/p>\n

The Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival will open with “The Eagels \u2013 Back to Blackbutt” concert on September 1 with guest artist Amber Goldsmith.<\/p>\n

On the following weekend, the art focus will be on exhibitions, buskers, photographic displays, sculptures on the trail, and art awards.<\/p>\n

Les Muller Park will feature a creative Kids’ Corner with events including drumming workshops and visual art,<\/p>\n

The Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Players will perform in the library with a free Cushion Kids Concert.<\/p>\n

The festival committee is inviting expressions of interest from anyone who would like to showcase their talents during the festival. Contact co-ordinator Melanie Doheny<\/strong> by email<\/strong><\/a> by June 15.<\/p>\n
