Georgie Somerset ... will be fielding questions on Q&A<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Durong grazier Georgie Somerset<\/strong> will be offering a South Burnett perspective when she’s a guest on the ABC’s popular Q&A<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>TV\u00a0panel show on Monday.<\/p>\n

Georgie will be on stage alongside Federal Minister for Regional Australia Simon Crean<\/strong>, Queensland Nationals’ Senator Barnaby Joyce<\/strong>, Leader of the Greens Christine Milne<\/strong> and Torres Strait musician\u00a0Jeremy Marou<\/strong> from rock duo Busby Marou.<\/p>\n

The show will be filmed live at The Empire Theatre in Toowoomba and will go to air from 9:35pm.<\/p>\n

The guests will field questions from the live audience as well as from TV viewers via Twitter and the web.<\/p>\n

As well as being a beef farmer, Georgie is a rural leader with experience in agribusiness, rural tourism and regional development – and a mother of three children.<\/p>\n

She is currently president of the Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women\u2019s Network<\/a><\/strong>, vice-president of the National Foundation for Australian Women, is on the board of the QRAA, a member of the National Rural Advisory Council and involved with various industry and community groups.<\/p>\n

Georgie is also working with other community leaders to establish a philanthropic group, the Red Earth Community Foundation, in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

She told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> that the show would be great opportunity to share the perspective of someone living in a rural community in southern Queensland with a national audience.<\/p>\n

However the discussion would be dictated by the questions that come in.<\/p>\n
