The South Burnett Regional Council has scheduled another round of flood recovery information gatherings to assist local primary producers following the decision by the State Government to extend the application period for assistance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Community Recovery sub-committee has organised three evening information sessions to ensure people affected by the floods in the South Burnett are given the assistance they need,\u201d Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur primary producers now have until November 29, 2013 to apply for up to $25,000 in flood recovery grant funds to assist them in recovery from the effects of the floods.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Community Recovery Information Gatherings are a great opportunity for our farmers, businesses and residents to gather information about financial and funding options. We are still finding there are people who haven\u2019t yet accessed these services and we would encourage them to attend one of the evenings.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese gatherings give people the opportunity to talk one-on-one with support agencies and gain access to possible financial assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The information gatherings will include a complimentary evening meal.<\/p>\n

Representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, CentreCare, AgForce, Burnett Mary Regional Group and the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) will be present.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be at the gatherings to explain what financial assistance that is available,\u201d BIEDO Business Pilot Trudi Bartlett said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBIEDO can offer up to three hours free of charge to help primary producers apply for the $25,000 grants from QRAA.<\/p>\n

“BIEDO works closely with all of the other organisations to ensure people get the assistance they need.\u201d<\/p>\n
