Congratulations to Kate Coughlan,\u00a0from Nanango State High School, who won the Kingaroy round of the 2013 Quota International Student of the Year competition last Saturday night.<\/p>\n

A total of eight students from Nanango State High School, Kingaroy State High School and St Mary’s Catholic College had a 40-minute interview with judges\u00a0Bernie Pegrem, Ilma O’Farrell and Clair Nicholls.<\/p>\n

The students then presented four-minute prepared speeches and a two-minute impromptu speech in front of a small audience in the South Burnett Regional Council Chambers in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Kate was presented with a shield and certificate from the Kingaroy Quota International Club.<\/p>\n

She will now compete at the Quota International District 34 finals in Maryborough on August 10 where she has the opportunity to win a bursary from Quota International for her tertiary studies.<\/p>\n
