AFL fans could be excused for double-checking their calendars when they attended the Saints \/ Warwick game at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett club’s “Heritage Day” had a genuine heritage feel with players turning out in the old Kingaroy Bulldogs strip against the Warwick Redbacks.<\/p>\n

Fans who turned out to enjoy the nostalgia – and the live music afterwards – would not have been disappointed by the Saints’ effort on the field, either.<\/p>\n

Warwick was more favoured but the match hung in the balance for much of the second half.<\/p>\n

Saints led for a spell in the third quarter and were within a goal of taking the lead just minutes before the full-time siren when a late kick by Warwick sealed the result.<\/p>\n

The final score was Warwick 11.11 (77) to\u00a0South Burnett 9.12 (66).<\/p>\n

Goal kickers for the Saints were Brad Edwards 3, Paul Pressnell 2, Adam Bowater, Jordan Pressnell, Kyall Shepherd and\u00a0Jayden Ewing.<\/p>\n

Best players were Alexander Totton, Adam Branch, Adam Bowater, Nathan Trace, Brad Edwards and Dylan Bowater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
