Early morning travellers may face some delays on the D’Aguilar Highway on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as a new 800 tonne hydraulic excavator makes its way from the Port of Brisbane to Meandu coal mine.<\/p>\n

Stanwell Asset Manager Jim Young told this evening’s KCCI Meet’n’Greet that the Hitachi EX8000 would be carried in pieces on between 20 to 30 trucks, starting at 5:00am on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

When assembled, it will be the largest excavator in Queensland and will be able to shift about 75 tonnes in each scoop of its bucket.<\/p>\n

It will take about 10 weeks to assemble on-site at the mine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
