Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington says more women than ever will have the opportunity to access breast screening through BreastScreen Queensland.<\/p>\n

Women aged between 50 and 74 will now be able to have their screening performed by BreastScreen Queensland whereas previously only women aged between 50 and 69 were eligible for the screening process.<\/p>\n

The increased service has received funding through a Federal Government\u2019s National Partnership agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really welcome this opportunity for more women to access the Breastscreen service,” Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

“Queensland has also recently implemented a successful rollout of digital mammography technology across all BreastScreen Queensland services.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have also increased the number of fixed and mobile screening facilities to meet population growth in Queensland.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese facilities will ensure that Queensland is well prepared to support the additional women who will have access to breast screening.\u201d<\/p>\n

BreastScreen Queensland currently operates in more than 200 locations throughout Queensland.<\/p>\n
