The South Burnett Thrashers put up a strong performance on the road against Rangers on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Although ultimately being defeated 24-10, the South Burnett side were in contention for most of the match.<\/p>\n

“We went pretty well until the last 10 minutes when we let in a couple of tries,” Club president Shane O\u2019Malley said.<\/p>\n

Winger Josh Flood scored both of the Thrashers’ tries.<\/p>\n

Next weekend the Thrashers will be playing back at home. <\/p>\n

They’ll be facing Toowoomba Bears, the first of three matches in a row they will be playing at St Mary’s Oval.<\/p>\n

“They’re always strong and they had a good win this week against the Condamine Cods,” Shane said.<\/p>\n

“But if we play the way we did this week, we consider ourselves a pretty good chance.<\/p>\n

“It will depend on how we play rather than how they play.”<\/p>\n

Shane said he was looking forward to a home match after the last game scheduled to be played in Kingaroy was forfeited by Highfields in Round 12.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
