South Burnett residents are being urged to get on their bikes for the inaugural South Burnett Region Community Ride which will be held in Kingaroy on Sunday, July 28.<\/p>\n

The charity fundraising ride is being held in conjunction with the 144km Tour de Kingaroy road race (a round of the Brisbane Camperland Queensland Road Teams series).<\/p>\n

Local cyclists will have the choice of three routes: 6km, 12km or 35km (see maps below).<\/p>\n

All rides will start at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street. Riders will then head along Walter Road and up Harris Road.<\/p>\n

The 35km route will take in the challenging Crawford-Booie Road hill climb for riders who feel up to it!<\/p>\n

The routes will all be sign-posted and traffic-controlled.<\/p>\n

A Cycling Queensland spokesman said the event was open to everyone … school students, parents, friends, business houses …<\/p>\n

There will be a sausage sizzle in the Youth Park, run by Kingaroy Lions, from 7:30am with funds raised to support the Mayor’s Community Trust.<\/p>\n

Riders should register online<\/a>\u00a0before July 21.<\/strong><\/p>\n
