Growing The Burnett’s training area at Memerambi is getting a makeover courtesy of a couple of school holidays volunteers.<\/p>\n

Luke Horton, from Kingaroy, and his cousin Lillianna Woodbridge, from Caboolture, have been painting a mural on the side of a building which formerly was coated in red dust.<\/p>\n

Project manager Brian Jarvis said the theme of the artwork would be “unity, the environment and growing food”.<\/p>\n

Luke is the son of Bruce Horton, from Burnett Beekeeping Supplies, who has been helping with the horticulture project.<\/p>\n

Growing The Burnett aims to expand food production options for South Burnett farmers, as well as fresh food choices for local consumers.<\/p>\n

Volunteers and trainees have planted an area out to vegetables and installed an irrigation system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
