The July category is childcare … Kingaroy Rotary Club president Damien Tessmann with Kelly Crawford, from Kingaroy, daughter Eliza, 9 months, and Samantha Rix, 9 (and yes, we agree, mums deserve an award every day)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Do you take pride in your work? If you do, and you (or someone else) can explain why, then the Kingaroy Rotary Club would like to give you an award.<\/p>\n

Club president Cr Damien Tessmann said today Kingaroy Rotary had decided at its Monday night meeting this week to hold monthly “Pride Of Workmanship” Awards for the next 12 months.<\/p>\n

Each month, the public will be invited to nominate an outstanding individual from within the Kingaroy region in a particular work category.<\/p>\n

The July vocation is “Child Care Worker”.<\/p>\n

This will be followed in August by “Transport” and in September by “Health Care”.<\/p>\n

Individuals can either be nominated by their clients, workmates, bosses etc. Or they can self-nominate.<\/p>\n

Cr Tessmann said the only thing required was an explanation of “why” the person should be rewarded.<\/p>\n

“Entries will be judged by a panel of senior Rotarians and then a trophy will be presented at our weekly meeting,” Cr Tessmann said.<\/p>\n

He said the motto for the awards was “Do It Once, Do It Right, Build A Better Australia”.<\/p>\n

“We want to recognise people who excel in their vocation,” he said.<\/p>\n
