October 29, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Engine failure has been blamed for an incident which forced a pilot to make an emergency landing in a paddock near Memerambi on October 21.<\/p>\n

An Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) spokesperson said that during the flight, the pilot of the Beechcraft Bonanza light aircraft detected abnormal vibrations from the engine. <\/p>\n

“The engine subsequently failed and the pilot observed oil on the windscreen,” the spokesperson said. <\/p>\n

“The pilot conducted a forced landing in a paddock and collided with a fence, resulting in substantial damage. <\/p>\n

“Nil injuries were reported.”<\/p>\n

The incident occurred near Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emergency services – including police, QAS and QFD – were called to the scene about 1:45pm.<\/p>\n

The single-engine aircraft had taken off from the Sunshine Coast Airport at 1:12pm and was believed to be en route to Redcliffe via Kingaroy when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n
