Police Minister Dan Purdie has knocked back a plea for a reward to be offered in the case of missing person Jack McLennan.<\/p>\n

Jack, 27, was last seen between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on October 4, 2024, walking in the Ficks Crossing area.<\/p>\n

Soon afterwards, items of Jack\u2019s clothing and a wallet were found by searchers in the Ficks Crossing and Murgon areas.<\/p>\n

Claims alleging foul play linked to local drug users have been aired on social media for almost two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The official e-petition, which attracted 2613 signatures, called for the State Government to consider a reward for credible information leading to the location and recovery of Jack’s body.<\/p>\n

It stressed that\u00a0measures encouraging the provision of new public information could assist investigations and generate actionable leads.<\/p>\n

Minister Purdie’s response to the petition acknowledged “the significant impact that (Jack’s) continued absence has had on his family, frends and the broader community”.<\/p>\n

However, he noted that “the matter does not presently satisfy the criteria ordinarily relied upon when considering a Government reward notice”.<\/p>\n

Minister Purdie said police remained committed to the ongoing investigation into Jack’s disappearance and encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact police or CrimeStoppers “regardless of how insignificant it may appear”.<\/p>\n

Jack’s grieving mother, Kellie Moody, who has been relentless in her search for answers, posted on social media this week that next Sunday marked “two years of pure hell” for her.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jack\u2019s disappearance is now the subject of a Coronial investigation.<\/p>\n
