A small ceremony was held at BlueCare’s Canowindra Aged Care Facility in Kingaroy on Thursday to mark the service of one of its residents.<\/p>\n

Donald Alistair Mackintosh was presented with the Australian Defence Medal and the Anniversary of National Services 1951-1972 Medal by Kingaroy-Memerambi Sub-Branch president Barry Offer.<\/p>\n

Sub-Branch member Barry Krosch, who organised the event, said Don served in the Australian Naval Reserve from 1967 until 1993, rising to the rank of probationary Sub-Lieutenant.<\/p>\n

He was also a keen pilot and held a Captain’s Licence and lectured in navigation.<\/p>\n
