Nanango Race Club’s meeting on Saturday turned up the heat just in time for Spring.<\/p>\n

The Fashions Of The Field competition was well supported, with entrants travelling from afar to take part.<\/p>\n

The five races on the card were also very competitive with a number of close finishes.<\/p>\n

Well-known racegoer Verelle O’Shanesy, from Jandowae, enjoyed an extra special meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She was runner-up in both the Classic Lady and Millinery fashions competitions but was also part-owner of “Outdoor Cat” which took out Race 4 thanks to jockey Matthew Powell.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff selected local resident Delvin Powys as her “Paddock Pick”, ie. selected from racegoers who didn’t enter the main Fashions competitions.<\/p>\n

The Best Presented Strapper prize, sponsored by Glenda Richardson and Cr Deb Dennien, was presented to Alex Gorey.<\/p>\n
