Ride 4 Relay has gone out with a bang! The 10th annual fundraiser for Cancer Council Queensland has already raised a record $55,563 with donations still rolling in.<\/p>\n

Organiser Jason Wyeth said the previous largest total raised was $51,000 and he was hoping the 2026 campaign could pass $60,000.<\/p>\n

The cyclists were based this year at the Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club\u2019s grounds, near Kingaroy Airport.<\/p>\n

For five days last week they explored different – and challenging – routes around South Burnett trails and back roads, clocking up more than 400km on their trek.<\/p>\n

A total of 22 riders took.<\/p>\n

southburnett.com.au<\/strong> dropped in on Saturday morning before the cyclists departed on their very last ride – a 62km route taking in parts of the Booie Range.<\/p>\n

The riders we spoke to were still enthusiastic but also admitted they had sore muscles … especially from the hills!<\/p>\n

Jason said the 10 years of Ride 4 Relay had been a “humbling and inspiring” experience.<\/p>\n

The event was started in 2017 as a way to support the South Burnett\u2019s Relay For Life\u2019s efforts for Cancer Council Queensland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since then it has been held every year – including during COVID – and has been one of the strongest of local fundraising teams.<\/p>\n

Before this year’s event began, Ride 4 Relay \u2013 and its associated Cattle For A Cure auction \u2013 had raised an amazing $280,638.<\/p>\n

The Ride 4 Relay team\u2019s fundraising efforts will be boosted again this year by the auction of nine head of donated cattle at the Murgon Saleyards this month.<\/p>\n
