The best of the South Burnett were named on Saturday night at the annual South Burnett Sub-Chamber Presentation Dinner at Goomeri’s Hall of Memory.<\/p>\n

The winners will go on to represent the region at next month’s Brisbane Exhibition.<\/p>\n

As usual, the Goomeri Show Society played host to the Sub-Chamber Finals in conjunction with its annual Beef Bonanza.<\/p>\n

And while this year’s Australia Day floods meant the total number of entries in some sections was down on usual, competition was still fierce.<\/p>\n

On Saturday morning the final judging for the Young Judges (Stud Beef), Young Paraders and Young Judges (Prime Beef) took place at the showgrounds before the Beef Bonanza got underway.<\/p>\n

This was followed by the judging of entrants in the State Ute Muster Series.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, contestants in the prestigious Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador Awards spent several hours at nearby Boonara Homestead being interviewed by judges.<\/p>\n

The Presentation Dinner itself got underway at 7:00pm at the Hall Of Memory, and during the course of the evening the winners and runners-up in all categories were announced.<\/p>\n

Attendees included many competition entrants, their friends and families; judges; and representatives from local Show Societies.<\/p>\n
