August 25, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington officially opened St John’s Lutheran School’s new multi-million dollar “T Block” for Year 6 students at a small celebration at the school last week.<\/p>\n

Principal Ruth Ferguson said it was another very exciting milestone in the continuing story of St John’s, but was much more than just the opening of a building.<\/p>\n

“It’s about possibility,” she said. “It’s about creating spaces in which young people can learn, question, create, collaborate and grow.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

She said T Block consisted of three purpose-built Year 6 classrooms, creating a dedicated learning precinct for the school’s senior primary students.<\/p>\n

“Year 6 is an important year in a person’s educational journey,” Mrs Ferguson said.<\/p>\n

“These students are our leaders of our primary school. They are beginning to experience greater independence and responsibility while preparing for the significant transition to secondary school.”<\/p>\n

Mrs Ferguson thanked former principal Karyn Bjelke-Petersen for the vision, planning and commitment which had made T Block possible.<\/p>\n

Pastor Jordan Bennett dedicated and blessed the new building and read a congratulatory letter from Lutheran Queensland Bishop, Pastor Mark Vainikka.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The State Government contributed $1.28 million towards the new building but Mrs Frecklington acknowledged that was “probably a drop in the ocean to what your (school) council and community contributed”.<\/p>\n
