Four people linked to the pork industry in NSW and Queensland have been charged after a joint investigation by the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) and NSW Police.<\/p>\n

It will be alleged the four – all business owners or representatives within the pork meat industry – engaged in significant financial offending across the two States.<\/p>\n

It will be alleged that sales records relating to approximately $10 million in transactions were deleted or not created between 2017 and 2026, resulting in proceeds being excluded from business records and retained for personal use.<\/p>\n

It is also alleged that during the same period more than $30 million in cash was transported from NSW to Queensland, including substantial sums of cash hidden in interstate freight vehicles.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frozen meat products were also allegedly fraudulently relabelled by altering production and best-before dates, although the CCC has confirmed with food safety authorities that there are no food safety concerns.<\/p>\n

The CCC has charged two people in Queensland with a number of offences, including fraudulently destroying records, making fraudulent omissions in records, fraud, receiving tainted property and making false declarations. They are scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 14.<\/p>\n

NSW Police have also charged two people with offences relating to the destruction or concealment of accounting records with intent to defraud. One of those individuals has also been charged with separate offences relating to the possession and dissemination of child abuse material, and the possession of prohibited animal abuse material.<\/p>\n

During the operation, authorities allegedly seized more than $3 million in cash and two motor vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A CCC statement said the total value of assets currently restrained as suspected proceeds of crime exceeded $25 million.<\/p>\n
