A pop-up session will be held at the Kingaroy RSL Club on Friday, August 21, to allow residents to comment on the State Government’s draft Wide Bay Burnett Regional Plan.<\/p>\n

The session will run from 10:00am to 1:00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington encouraged residents across the region to have their say on the plan, which includes the South Burnett and Cherbourg council areas.<\/p>\n

The draft plan outlines a 20-year vision for the region with strategic priorities including housing, economic growth, agriculture, ecotourism, healthy and liveable communities, and the infrastructure needed to support future growth.<\/p>\n

Ms Frecklington said the plan was an important step in ensuring regional communities remained at the centre of planning decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis plan gives our regional communities confidence that we\u2019re listening to them and we have a plan for their future. This is about ensuring better coordination for our long-term infrastructure needs across the region,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe draft plan recognises the strong connections between communities throughout the Wide Bay Burnett and aims to support sustainable growth while protecting the characteristics that make our region unique.”<\/p>\n
