Year 8 students Blaze, Edward, Jaxon, Nick and Lamar were enjoying NAIDOC at Kingaroy State High School<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

July 22, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students from Kingaroy State School and Kingaroy State High School joined together to celebrate “50 Years Of Deadly” on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The special NAIDOC celebration in the high school grounds featured dancing, activities, stalls and lots of fun.<\/p>\n

A highlight was several dancing performances, guided by Kingaroy State High School’s Toni Phillips-Petersen, Amy Stevens and Matt Gale, in a temporary bora ring.<\/p>\n

Elders from Cherbourg and Kingaroy were also invited to enjoy the day’s activities.<\/p>\n

A special “community walkway” into the NAIDOC area was decorated with photographs of former First Nations residents.<\/p>\n

In the Kingaroy State High School library, the NAIDOC posters from former celebrations were on display, recreated by students from the two Kingaroy schools.<\/p>\n
