A multi-agency taskforce has seized illicit tobacco worth more that $23.4 million in raids across south-east Queensland.<\/p>\n

The joint operation, led by Australian Border Force, also drew on the resources of the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Australian Taxation Office, Australian Federal Police, Queensland Police and Queensland Health.<\/p>\n

On June 16-17,\u00a097 officers executed a series of warrants and compliance actions at five retail outlets, four commercial premises and seven residential properties.<\/p>\n

An ABF spokesperson said the raids allegedly located:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • About 13.7 million illicit cigarettes as well as more than 380kg loose leaf tobacco, 27,000 vapes and 30,000 nicotine pouches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • More then $AUD175,000, $NZD3400 cash and $USD8300 cash<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • A cash counting machine, a Rolex watch, 10 vials of human growth hormone and other drug paraphernalia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        One outlet was issued with a temporary closure order.<\/p>\n

        Officers also seized electronic devices for further examination and a bank account linked to the syndicate has been frozen.<\/p>\n
