Genealogical Society secretary Carly Zilm takes a closer look at some of the historic photos which were on show<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Two local groups with vastly different interests – but with members who love to have a chat! – hosted an Open Day at the old 1913 Council Chambers in Kingaroy this week.<\/p>\n

The two groups, the South Burnett Genealogical and Family History Society and the Tuesday Art Group, have some joint members which is how the idea came about.<\/p>\n

The Genealogical group mounted a display of historic photos on tables and around the walls of the historic building, as well as having dozens of photo books laid out to peruse.<\/p>\n

Secretary Carly Zilm said there were about 750 photos on display, including a mystery panoramic photo taken outside the peanut silos taken in 1937 (see below).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, members of the Tuesday Art Group were working on their artworks, and showing off completed works.<\/p>\n

Both groups are very friendly and are keen to attract new members:<\/strong><\/p>\n
