University Cougars tested South Burnett Saints at Lyle Vidler Oval last Saturday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The annual Ben Brooks Memorial Day Australian Rules game will have extra poignancy this Saturday at Kingaroy’s Lyle Vidler Oval.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Saints will again be remembering their much-loved former teammate, Ben, who died of cancer in 2022.<\/p>\n

However, this year Ben’s father Darryl – who attended past memorial days – will also be on the team’s mind.<\/p>\n

Darryl was a founding member of the Saints and a former junior coach but died from a work-related cancer on May 1 this year.<\/p>\n

The Saints men will be taking on the Warwick Redbacks in their Darling Downs competition match at 2:45pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of the game, Ben Brooks Medals will be presented to a player from each team.<\/p>\n
