One Nation founder Senator Pauline Hanson endorsed two future local candidates during her tour of the South Burnett at the weekend.<\/p>\n

During a mini-rally hosted at Murgon’s Royal Hotel on Saturday morning, (see below), Senator Hanson named Adam Kratzmann as the One Nation candidate who will challenge the LNP’s Deb Frecklington at the next State Election, due to be held on October 28, 2028.<\/p>\n

Mr Kratzmann is a former Windera resident and operated a real estate business in Hervey Bay.<\/p>\n

Senator Hanson also endorsed Kilkivan-based anti-renewables campaigner Katy McCallum as the candidate for the Federal electorate of Wide Bay, held by the LNP’s Llew O’Brien.<\/p>\n

The two former police officers are expected to go head-to-head at the next Federal Election which must be held on or before May 20, 2028.<\/p>\n

(At the 2024 State Election, Ms McCallum stood for One Nation against sitting LNP MP Tony Perrett, who secured 46.43 per cent of the vote on first preferences compared with Ms McCallum’s 22.11 per cent. The ALP’s Lachlan Anderson, 23.44 per cent, also outpolled Ms McCallum on first preferences.)<\/p>\n

Senator Hanson told southburnett.com.au that candidates for the Federal electorates of Maranoa and Flynn had not yet been selected but there was still plenty of time as the election was at least 18 months away.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon Rally<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

About 140 people filled an area at the back of the Royal Hotel at Murgon on Saturday morning, applauding as Senator Hanson spoke.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her topics included immigration, Indigenous affairs, men’s rights and renewable energy.<\/p>\n

She questioned the basis of the skilled migration program, saying at least one “skilled” migrant had simply gained their expertise from watching YouTube videos.<\/p>\n

However, Senator Hanson also promised that One Nation would ensure that schemes which brought in people to work on farms or abattoirs would continue as “Australians don’t want the jobs” (something else she wants to fix).<\/p>\n

Senator Hanson also promised there would only be one Australian flag, would end “Welcome To Country” ceremonies and create a “sunset clause” on Native Title claims.<\/p>\n

One Nation would also never support “net zero” and there would be no more wind turbines.<\/p>\n

She also promised to end “NDIS scams”, saying the support scheme was meant for people with physical disabilities not ADHD or autism.<\/p>\n

Speaking about Family Law, Senator Hanson said the “lies” being told in court alleging sexual abuse by men were linked to the high rate of male suicides and “real domestic abuse”.<\/p>\n

“Children need fathers in their lives,” she said.<\/p>\n

After her talk, she was swamped by people wanting selfies with her.<\/p>\n

Footnote: A poll by the RedBridge Group and Accent Research, published by The Australian Financial Review on Sunday night, has put One Nation ahead of the other major parties for the first time on 31 per cent. Labor was 28 per cent, the Coalition at 20 per cent and The Greens at 12 per cent. The poll surveyed 1005 voters and had a margin of error of 3.4.<\/em><\/p>\n

Senator Hanson’s visit to the South Burnett included a meeting with South Burnett councillors and Council staff on Friday at the Council Chambers in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Senator Hanson was given a copy of Council’s Federal Advocacy Document and was asked to advocate for an increase in Federal Assistance Grants and the return of Local Roads and Community Infrastructure grants.<\/p>\n

“We talked about defence, renewables, youth crime, funding CCTV cameras, veg management laws, housing and homeless and a host of other topics,” Mayor Kathy Duff wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

Senator Hanson also visited Cross Country Motorcycle Repairs at Wooroolin on Friday.<\/p>\n

On Friday night, about 250 people paid $70 a head to attend a One Nation dinner event with Senator Hanson at the Kingaroy Town Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The evening was compered by Katy McCallum with guest speakers Senator Hanson and Adam Kratzmann.<\/p>\n

On Saturday morning, a planned visit by Senator Hanson to Mannuem – the site of several renewables projects – was cancelled due to Friday’s weather so the meeting relocated to Kumbia Memorial Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

About 100 people filled the hall to hear Senator Hanson speak.<\/p>\n

Local stonefruit grower Tony Dugdell, who is chairing a committee of residents opposed to wind farms in the South Burnett, also addressed the audience, as well as Wambo wind farm neighbour Fiona Duff who became quite emotional as she spoke.<\/p>\n
