Community groups in the Kumbia, Bell and Jandowae areas wanting to kick start local projects have been invited to apply for up to $200,000 in funding in a bumper round of Wambo Wind Farm\u2019s Community Benefit Fund program.<\/p>\n

Two grant rounds have been combined to create the bumper round.<\/p>\n

Wambo Wind Farm project director Stewart Alexander said Wambo Wind Farm had contributed more than $500,000 across the Western Downs in community sponsorship.<\/p>\n

Last year, it supported the Bell Bunya Community Centre to carry out a refurbishment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The centre is a creative and social hub for the Bell Community, hosting history and heritage groups, health and fitness classes, library programs and theatre and art exhibitions.<\/p>\n

President Jayne Rohrlach said volunteers used the grant to help refresh the centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe funding allowed us to repaint gallery spaces and rooms, upgrade fittings and improve the overall look and feel of the facility,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications for the combined round opened on Monday (May 25) and will close on July 6.<\/p>\n
