Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is encouraging local children to take part in this year’s Premier\u2019s Reading Challenge.<\/p>\n

The challenge is open to children from early childhood through to Year 9, inviting them to discover the joy of reading, explore new stories, expand their imagination and build strong literacy skills.<\/p>\n

Last year, Queensland children collectively read an incredible 1.9 million books as part of the challenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs someone who personally loves to read, I strongly encourage all schools, early childhood centres, families and carers to get behind this year\u2019s challenge,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a wonderful opportunity to inspire young Queenslanders to read for pleasure and learning, while continuing our shared commitment to improving literacy across the State.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s make 2026 another record-breaking year and continue fostering a love of reading right across the Nanango electorate.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The challenge begin on May 11 and will run until August 28, coinciding with the end of Book Week.<\/p>\n

Early childhood centres can also take part between August 17-28.<\/p>\n

Certificates will be awarded to all participants who complete the challenge.<\/p>\n
