The Bunya Mountains Community Association Inc (BMCAI) has officially launched a three-year fundraising campaign to build a dedicated, accessible and inclusive Community Centre in the heart of the Bunya Mountains.<\/p>\n

The venue would serve as a much-needed space for local residents, visitors, artists, service providers and as a disaster emergency refuge, addressing a long-standing lack of public infrastructure in the area.<\/p>\n

In December last year, South Burnett Regional Council voted to approve an application for a Development Permit for Material Change of Use for the community centre, which will be built at 3384 Bunya Mountains Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis project is about more than just a building \u2014 it\u2019s about creating connection, inclusion, and resilience in a place that deserves it,\u201d BMCAI vice-president Gerald Tooth said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve raised over $80,000 so far, and now we\u2019re inviting the broader public and our funding partners, including all levels of government, to help us bring this vision to life.\u201d<\/p>\n

BMCAI aims to raise $1.5 million by 2028 through community donations, grants and business partnerships.<\/p>\n

All funds will go directly toward the construction and fit-out of the community centre.<\/p>\n
