South Burnett schools are among the first to receive a boost in prep teacher aides under a new State Government initiative.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said Benarkin, Moffatdale, Proston, Wooroolin<\/strong> and Yarraman<\/strong> State schools would receive funding for the equivalent of a full-time teacher aide.<\/p>\n

They are among the first of 600 Queensland state schools which will share in the $54 million program over the next four years.<\/p>\n

“This significant commitment gives South Burnett Prep children the best start to their education and supports frontline teachers in doing what they do best,” Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

“We’ve launched this program by targeting Prep classes in areas of greatest need, including low socio-economic and rural and remote communities.”<\/p>\n

Prep enrolments at the start of the 2013 school year will determine the exact allocation of teacher aide hours to the selected schools.<\/p>\n
