The results of a year-long project to document South Burnett events on film for local tourism organisation Visit South Burnett (VSB) will be unveiled to the public in July.<\/p>\n

Artist Robyn Dower and videographer Charlie Spagalli have been working on the unique project, “Wouldn\u2019t You Like To Be In My Shoes?”, since August 2025.<\/p>\n

They have been visiting everything from festivals and sporting days to art galleries and museums, usually accompanied by a very large pair of white shoes.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people have been photographed “wearing” these shoes at events right across the region.<\/p>\n

Robyn and Charlie spoke about the project at the recent VSB meet’n’greet for tourism businesses hosted by the Nanango Tourism and Development Association (NaTDA) recently at the old Masonic Lodge building in Nanango.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Robyn said the plan was for the results of the “Wouldn\u2019t You Like To Be In My Shoes?” project would be shown in the Reception Room at the Kingaroy Town Hall on July 23 and then later at the Kingaroy Mall.<\/p>\n

The project was funded by a South Burnett RADF grant.<\/p>\n

NaTDA manages the old Masonic Lodge building, which was bought for the community use by Heritage Nanango Community Funding in 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The historic building has been turned into a museum and a meeting room which is available to hire.<\/p>\n

The VSB meeting also discussed the importance of promoting “staycations” to South Burnett residents, ie. enjoying a holiday in your own backyard, such as staying at a B&B or camping at a dam.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cr Jane Erkens said the South Burnett Regional Council offered a 10 per cent discount for South Burnett residents who stayed at either Bjelke-Petersen or Boondooma dams (outside of peak times).<\/p>\n
