The Wondai Garden Expo has put down strong roots at the Wondai Showgrounds, with president Damion Biltoft more than happy with how the new venue coped earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The move to the showgrounds, after more than 20 years at the Wondai Sportsground, was not an easy decision for the Garden Expo Committee to make but the new layout has proven successful.<\/p>\n

Damion said there were more than 90 stalls situated in a more condensed area for visitors to explore.<\/p>\n

“It looks good and has a better feel,” he told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> on the day.<\/p>\n

There were stalls set up under shade, in the main show pavilion and around the cattle judging area.<\/p>\n

Guest speakers included representatives from Bottle Tree Hill Organics and Swallowtail Nursery, and Terry Stokes from Rural Boss.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wondai’s Autumn and Spring Garden Expos are two of the most popular local events on the annual calendar, and were rapidly outgrowing their space at the sportsground.<\/p>\n

Traffic on the Bunya Highway was also becoming a safety issue for patrons.<\/p>\n

Another change for 2026 was a change of date: the Autumn Expo was shifted from the third weekend in April to the second weekend.<\/p>\n

Damion said the plan now was for all future garden expos to be held at the showgrounds.<\/p>\n
