Friends and colleagues officially farewelled former Kingaroy Police Station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney in a special ceremony on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Tierney is retiring from the Queensland Police Service after 42 years service.<\/p>\n

Acting Police Minister, Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington, paid tribute to his service at the ceremony, as did recently appointed Kingaroy officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Scott Prendergast (see below).<\/p>\n

An emotional Snr Sgt Tierney was then led to a waiting vehicle by a police piper Alistair Bremner as an informal honour guard applauded.<\/p>\n
