The final turbine components for Stage 2 have now been delivered to the Wambo Wind Farm.<\/p>\n

The 500MW project, jointly owned by Stanwell and Cubico Sustainable Investments, is being built in two stages.<\/p>\n

Stage 1 – which consisted of 42 turbines – is already adding energy into the grid; Stage 2 has 41 turbines.<\/p>\n

Stanwell CEO Michael O\u2019Rourke said the milestone reflected the many years of hard work by everyone involved, including the joint venture\u2019s project team and principal contractor, Vestas.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoving 83 turbines across Queensland is no small feat,\u201d Mr O\u2019Rourke said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt requires an incredible amount\u00a0of preparation, careful route planning and close collaboration between our delivery partners, local\u00a0councils\u00a0and communities.\u00a0I want to thank everyone for their efforts and patience to get to this milestone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWith\u00a0Stage 2\u00a0turbine\u00a0deliveries now complete, construction of the remaining turbines\u00a0will continue,\u00a0followed by testing and commissioning.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring this phase, turbines will\u00a0undergo a rigorous series of performance and compliance tests to ensure they are operating safely, correctly and in\u00a0line\u00a0with regulatory requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cubico Sustainable Investments’ David Smith thanked the local community and road users for their patience and co-operation throughout the delivery phase.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe completion of deliveries marks\u00a0a significant reduction in\u00a0oversize and over-mass vehicle movements on local roads,\u201d\u00a0Mr Smith said.<\/p>\n
