Wild Horse FM’s “Shoot The Breeze” interview program has been named as a finalist in a prestigious new national awards competition.<\/p>\n

The Australian Audio Awards, organised by publisher Mumbrella in partnership with Radio Today and Radioinfo, aim to recognise the best in Australian radio and podcasting.<\/p>\n

The winners will be announced on May 28 in Sydney.<\/p>\n

“Shoot The Breeze”, presented by volunteers Jon Fearnley and Frank Hodgkinson, is a finalist in the “Best Non-Commercial Program” category.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Shoot The Breeze” is just that … Jon and Frank taking turns at “shooting the breeze”, recording interviews with local residents in their kitchens, backyards or even in the Wild Horse studios in Yarraman.<\/p>\n

Over the past two years the pair have recorded and edited 65 interviews, sometimes in technically challenging conditions.<\/p>\n

The stories they have collected reflect the diversity of opinions and lifestyles in the Yarraman area, as well as creating a “living record” of local history.<\/p>\n

“Shoot The Breeze” will be competing against some heavy hitters in its category: three entries from the ABC (Triple J Drive with Abby & Tyrone; Nightlife; and Regional Queensland Drive), SBS Chill and So Bae Party Mix (Bay FM 100.3).<\/p>\n

The inaugural Australian Audio Awards follow the demise of the Australian Commercial Radio Awards which were formerly organised by Commercial Radio and Audio.<\/p>\n
