The keys to control three new “fire danger” signs have been handed over to local Rural Fire Brigades in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The signs, which were erected by Main Roads earlier this month, are located at Tingoora, Cloyna and on the Proston-Boondooma Road at Coverty.<\/p>\n

Bush Fire Safety Officer – Regional Operations (North Coast Region) Craig Magick presented the keys to local firefighters today,<\/p>\n

He said the signs would greatly assist all South Burnett communities as well as travellers passing through the area to alert them what the daily fire dagger rating was.<\/p>\n

“Last year, all brigades in the shire had an early start the fire season and this year’s season is nearly upon us,” Mr Magick said.<\/p>\n
