Well-known local musician Sonia McMahon was inducted into the South Burnett Music Awards Hall Of Fame<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

April 8, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rockin’ Our Abilities founder Sonia McMahon – who also rocks the South Burnett in the Rufus Jack band – was the big winner at the recent South Burnett Music Awards.<\/p>\n

Sonia was inducted into the South Burnett Music Awards Hall Of Fame, won the People’s Choice Award and was nominated for the Mentor Award.<\/p>\n

The fourth annual awards night, organised by founder Warren Gould, was hosted this year at the Kingaroy Golf Club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A big crowd of South Burnett musicians, their friends and supporters filled the club for the evening, which also featured live performances between the presentations.<\/p>\n

Warren founded the awards as a way to recognise local talent in the South Burnett as well as raise funds to buy instruments to support up-and-coming musicians.<\/p>\n

He said that since the awards began, close to $15,000 worth of musical instruments had been given to young people.<\/p>\n

A donation of $300 was also presented during the night to Rockin’ Our Abilities.<\/p>\n
