Western Downs Regional Council’s annual celebration of everything to do with books, “Words Out West”, will be returning in June with a string of events.<\/p>\n

The weeks-long celebration will culminate with a special Writer’s Retreat at “Godshill” on the Bunya Mountains on Saturday, June 20.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the seventh year the WDRC has organised the festival for readers and writers but this year it has moved into a different timeslot.<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said shifting the event to June would allow bibliophiles to indulge in the cosy winter pastime: stay indoors, keep warm with a cuppa, and be inspired by some of their favourite authors.<\/p>\n

“Words Out West is about inspiring creativity and building meaningful connection within our community,” Mayor Andrew Smith said. <\/p>\n
