A retirement party for well-known local police officer, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, was held last Saturday night at the Kingaroy Cricket Club.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Tierney, who was appointed Officer-in-Charge of Kingaroy Police Station in February 2018, will be retiring from the Queensland Police Service in April.<\/p>\n

Friends, fellow officers and former colleagues gathered for the celebration of his career.<\/p>\n

Dave began his policing career as a cadet at the Police Academy on January 31, 1984.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He then served at Brisbane City Station, Maroochydore, Townsville, Stuart, Toowoomba and Dalby before being transferred to Kingaroy as Officer-in-Charge.<\/p>\n

Senior Sergeant Scott Prendergast, who formerly headed the Kingaroy CIB, was appointed as the new Officer-in-Charge at Kingaroy in February.<\/p>\n
