March 25, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett and Gympie farmers affected by the recent flash floods have been invited to attend meetings which could assist them.<\/p>\n

On Friday (March 27), a Disaster Recovery information evening will be held at the Booubyjan Hall, off the Burnett Highway at Booubyjan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents have been invited to drop in at any time between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.<\/p>\n

There’ll be representatives from many organisations in attendance – including Rural Aid, QRIDA, the DPI, Centrelink, AgForce and the Rural Financial Counselling Service – to answer questions and provide helpful information.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a free barbecue and refreshments.<\/p>\n

On Saturday (March 28), farmers who would like some help to clear or repair their fences have been invited to visit the Murgon Men’s Shed, at 75 Macalister Street, from 6:00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Property registrations will be passed on to BlazeAid which will supply volunteers to help with repairs.<\/p>\n

There will also be a free sausage sizzle.<\/p>\n
